I have worked in the Social Care Sector for nearly 30 years in residential and day service settings before starting work with the Trust in December 1995.
I live with my Husband and Daughter and 2 Beagles. I love spending time with my family and walking my dogs
Mark Veater is one of our Operational Managers.
I joined the Trust as a part time outreach worker in 1996 as its 8th employee. Like many people, I have family experience of people with learning disabilities.
I have been happily married to my wife for only slightly less time than I have been wedded to the Trust, and I have two children who appear not to resent too much the family’s decision to move to Sunderland in 2007.

I have had over 30 years’ experience working within the field of social care and have held a number of roles during that time; from residential and respite services to day services and supported employment for both Northumberland Care Trust and Care ltd.
Susan Scott is the Outreach Manager.
I have over twenty years of experience working in education and social care.
I arrived at the Coquet Trust in 1997.
The best part of my current role is providing support to people in accessing bespoke, quality services.
When I'm not at work I enjoy travelling, spending time with my family and going to see live bands. I'm currently learning to play the Ukulele!
Rick Ridley Gurr is one of our Service Managers.
Having worked in Social Care for over 20 years, I have gained huge experience across a range of support services. I am responsible for a portfolio of 5 services encompassing Supported Living, and Outreach services.
Away from work, I am passionate about music and films, with an ambition to cycle from coast to coast . I also like to keep fit and spend time with my two Dogs .
Joan Hazon is our HR Manager.
I started working for Coquet Trust in January 2003 as full time payroll/administrator. I went on to complete a CIPD course in 2004 and in 2010 completed a degree in Human Resource Management. Since I started the trust has more than doubled in size which keeps me very busy!
I love being outdoors, whether that being messing about in the garden, walking my two lovely dogs or popping along to the local beer garden!
Ruth Jacques is Head of Finance.
I have worked for Coquet Trust since May 2005 and I make sure all the bills are paid and the admin team is a smooth running machine. I am also on hand with my trusty toolbox should a toilet need unblocking or if a door handle is loose!
Like a lot of staff here at Head Office I love animals especially my lovely cat.
Lynsey Gardner is our Outreach Co-ordinator. She has recently returned to work after taking maternity leave.
Lynsey has worked for Coquet Trust since June 2012 and assists Susan in the running of the Outreach Department.
Marie McGurk is one of our Service Managers.
I have worked for Coquet Trust since December 1996, starting as a support worker then managing a service before becomming a Service Manager overseeing 3 services.
I love animals and have two rescue dogs that keep me busy when I'm not at work.
Gemma Lawrenson is HR Assistant at Coquet Trust.
I have worked at Coquet Trust since February 2009 and in that time I have gained the CIPD qualification.
I work closely with Joan to make sure that all staff records are up to date.
I love going on holiday somewhere hot and sunny.
Kirsty Parkes is our Finance Assistant.
I started working for the Coquet Trust in September 2015. I have enjoyed getting into the role as Ruth’s finance wing woman. I share an office with Pamela and we love to sing along to the radio. I like to be organised and love my ticky lists as well as meeting our service users to see what they’ve been up to.
I enjoy spending time with my family and doing small DIY jobs. I also enjoy making cards and craft items and I love anything that is girly and sparkles.
Pamela Coates is our Admin Assistant.
I worked as the Receptionist on a Monday and Tuesday for just over 2 years before applying for the Admin Assistant's job. I love to be busy and chatting to support workers and service users. I am responsible for maintaining the training records as well as booking all staff onto training.
When I’m not at work I like to read, spend time with my family, bake cakes and go swimming
Sheila Smith is one of our job share Receptionists.
I am the receptionist on Thursdays and Fridays. I’ve worked at the Coquet Trust since February 2004 and over that time I’ve enjoyed getting to know the service users and seeing them develop their own personal skills and grow in confidence.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dogs and spending time with my granddaughter.
Adele is the third of our job share receptionists.
I have enjoyed working at Coquet Trust for a year now. I work Mondays and Tuesdays and my role involves a good variety of tasks and I enjoy chatting with everyone who visits the office.
In my spare time I enjoy time with my family. I have two young daughters who take up lots of my time. As a family, we enjoy going for days out, the cinema and eating out.
Angela McKenna is another of our job share Receptionists.
I started working for Coquet Trust in July 2010 as a fill in receptionist before starting to work a regular Wednesday afternoon.
I now work all day on Wednesdays as receptionist.
